NATIVE AMERICAN ZUNI LABRADORITE FROG FETISH BY BRIAN YATSATTIE

Description In prehistoric times, frog carvings appeared in jewelry.  Zuni frog fetishes are associated with rain, abundance, and fertility.  Zuni fetish carver Brian Yatsattie hand crafted this stellar frog out of Labradorite.  Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of color, known as labradorescence.  This luminous specimen is filled with hues of blues and greys.  Labradorite also has natural fracturing,  giving it beauty and character in the stone.  It also changes in different lighting and at different angles.
