Your dog or cat will adapt to this routine similarly to how children do, and it can even turn into a fun bonding experience for both of you.In the early stages of dental disease, there may be minimal signs, but as the condition advances, you might observe:Bad breathRed or swollen gumsDiscoloured, loose, or missing teethThe primary culprit behind dental issues is the accumulation of a sticky, colourless film filled with bacteria on the teeth, known as ‘plaque.’ If not removed, plaque hardens into calculus or tartar, which appears as an orange-brown coating. This substance firmly adheres to the teeth and can penetrate the gums, leading to inflammation (gingivitis) and potentially affecting the tooth socket (periodontitis). Without intervention, the tooth socket may become infected, resulting in tooth loss.Useage Instructions: The best way to prevent dental problems is to brush your pet’s teeth daily, if possible. If daily brushing isn’t feasible, aim for at least twice a week. Brushing can be complemented with other options like dental chews to support healthy gums.Start a dental hygiene routine by gently massaging your pet’s teeth and gums with your finger while offering praise and reassurance. Once they are comfortable with the massage, apply a small amount of toothpaste to your finger and repeat the process.
