In a typical middle class mum fashion, for my first born I had to buy a Baby Bjorn seat for my son. I could not imagine my baby not having the very best in the world and also the most expensive. Well… I stand corrected. I had to use this Chicco baby chair (for my second born) whilst visiting my parents (long story short their neighbour lent them the Chicco seat because I was coming and my parents didn’t have one). When I saw the Chicco seat I first turned my nose up thinking that it would never be as good as the Baby Bjorn and that my daughter would of course not like it. I was totally wrong. My daughter loved the Chicco seat so much that I actually bought a new one as soon as I came back home. On the minus side, the Chicco seat is larger than the Baby Bjorn and doesn’t fold as well, so you can’t travel with it as easily as the Baby Bjorn and when you live in a small flat/house it does take up more space. But, on the plus side, first it is very comfy (it is a large padded seat, a lot more comfortable than the slim piece of fabric in the Baby Bjorn). Second the Chicco seat allows baby to rock herself which is exactly what my daughter loves doing. She literally rocks herself in excitement when she is happy (she is 16 weeks old). Finally the Chicco seat is a lot cheaper than the Baby Bjorn and the quality of the make is impressive for the price you pay. Basically in hindsight I would never have bought a Baby Bjorn seat if I had known of the existence of the Chicco seat.
